A passenger from a Nissan is in hospital with critical injuries after a single-car crash early Sunday morning.

Shortly before 12:30 a.m., Langley RCMP were called to a single vehicle collision on River Road at Armstrong.

The collision involved a Nissan car with three occupants, including the driver. The westbound vehicle drove off the road to the right, became airborne and flipped several times.

The two passengers, aged 19 and 20, were taken by air ambulance to hospital. One passenger sustained life-threatening head injuries and remains in critical condition, while the other suffers from broken bones.

The driver was uninjured and was brought back to Langley detachment where he provided samples of his breath. The samples showed a blood alcohol reading in excess of the legal limi a Langley RCMP press release states.

He was released to family members and will appear in Provincial Court in the near future. Police prepared documentation recommending alcohol-related driving charges for the young driver.

ICARS (Integrated Collision and Analysis Reconstruction Service) was dispatched to assist with the investigation.
