New business fits well with healthy living initiative

The Main Event Boxing and MMA Studio is giving Lower Similkameen residents a unique opportunity to get fit

“Coach” Rob and Donna Pelletier’s arrival in Keremeos was nicely timed to coincide with the village, regional district and Interior Health initiative to build healthy communities in the region.

The Main Event Boxing and MMA Studio is giving Lower Similkameen residents a unique opportunity to get fit – one that they probably wouldn’t have similar opportunities for in a bigger city.

The Pelletiers have some unique selling points to their downtown gym – they both have skill sets in fitness methods and coaching as well as having the ability to provide casual one on one training.

The Main Event facility is comfortable and intimate, the proprietors genuinely interested in “getting Keremeos in shape,”and as a result, patrons have easy access to both Coach Rob and Donna, who are always nearby. Questions about exercise methods, diet and fitness regimens can be answered easily without breaking training. Helpful advice is always available.

Their business provides that little extra that might mean all the difference to someone aiming at a healthier lifestyle, but lacking the knowledge or motivation to properly go about it for the time period it takes to become a regular habit.

The studio is a great addition to the business  community in Keremeos, and appears to fit right in with current local and regional policies designed to improve the health of Lower Similkameen residents.

We hope these facts aren’t lost on the local members of the Healthy Community initiative, as there may  be opportunities – both from a business and social perspective – that could be mutually beneficial to all, through collaborative efforts to promote regional fitness.
