The eighth annual event runs June 13-16, and brings together 13 goalies in the under-20 age category (candidates for Canada’s junior national team) and six in the under-18 category (candidates for the U18 national team).

Skapski, who turns 19 on Saturday, is in the former age bracket, and he’s coming off a career year with the Kootenay Ice of the Western Hockey League. In his first full season as starter, he posted a 34-25-1 record to go with a 2.78 goals against average and a .910 save percentage. He also tied for the league lead with seven shutouts.
