Four speed skaters from Abbotsford have qualified for the upcoming BC Winter Games, which run Feb. 20-23, 2014 in Mission.
At the recent Jingle Bell Cup in Maple Ridge, which doubled as the Fraser Valley Zone 3 qualifying meet, Alex Chizawsky (gold, U16 male), Annabel Johnson (gold, U14 female) and Madison Karpes (silver, U16 female) of the Matsqui Blades punched their BC Games tickets by virtue of their top-three finishes.
Additionally, Michael Warkentin, an Abbotsford resident who trains with Sardis Flyers, earned a berth with a silver medal in the U16 boys division.
