Several adult skaters from the Aldergrove Skating Club competed at the West Coast Challenge this past weekend in Coquitlam.
This included a first time in competion for Lauren Delucawe, who placed third in the Pre-Introductory Interpretive event.
After a serious injury last year, Heather Steeple came back for her first competition and received the Gold medal in the Pre-Introductory Interpretive event.
In the Introductory Interpretive Sharon Thomsen placed first and Nancy Edwards received the Bronze.
In the Gold level Interpretive event, Roberta Sawatzky skated a beautiful program to “Over the Rainbow” and got the Silver.
At the same venue the Aldergrove Synchronized Skating teams performed award-winning programs. The Ice Silhouette Adult 3 Ice Silhouettes received the Gold medal and the Ice Angels Juvenile team also received the Gold medal. The Beginner 1 Snowflakes skated to a Silver medal.
All the teams had a successful season, winning several medals and having some wonderful skates.
All of the members are now preparing for the Pop Concert set for this Friday, March 7 at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:00 and tickets can be purchased at the door for $7. For further information call 604-857-1696.
