Fraser Valley's best men's soccer players set to battle Vancouver Island counterparts

The best of the Fraser Valley are set to battle their Vancouver Island counterparts on Saturday as Willoughby Community Park hosts a pair of men’s soccer all-star games.

The first game at 12:30 p.m. will see the best of the Fraser Valley Soccer League masters division face Vancouver Island. That will be followed by an open division all-star game between the two leagues at 2:30 p.m.

Matt Neal Smith (Langley FC Rangers) and Joe Deacon (Aldergrove United) are on the masters team, with Fraser Ross (Langley FC Rangers) serving on the coaching staff.

And in the open division all-star game, Langley United’s Brent Wantke, Ethan Claibourne-Collins and Tyson Keam will all suit up.

Aldergrove United will be represented by Jarvis Ambaka and Nick Cantelon.

There will also be a Fraser Valley Soccer League North vs. South all-star game on Friday at Port Moody Town Centre.

Representing the local soccer clubs are: Jesse Richardson and Rory Sewell; (Langley FC); Alex Jones and Shane Stewart (Langley United Dynamo); Matthew Kasteel and Matthew Roxburgh (Langley United B); Andrew Young (Langley United C); Benny Goller and Jason Flint (Langley United Sparta); Zack Vevers and Brodie Walker (Aldergrove Lightning); and Gavin Deacon (Aldergrove United C).
