The BC Aquasonics provincial and pre-competitive swimmers struck gold multiple times at a regional synchronized swim meet last month, winning gold medals in each of the nine events they entered.
“We are so proud of our athletes,” said BC Aquasonics coach Tanya Magee. “For some of them, this was their very first time at a synchro meet and they are thrilled to have such great success. For the provincial level competitive athletes, this was their first big test of the year in an official competition and they passed with flying colours.
Among the gold medallists were Madeleine LeBlanc (solo, level 2, 12-and-under); Isobel Jervis and Annie Wang (duet, level 1, 12-and-under); Grace MacDonald and Abby Rothwell (duet, level 2, 12-and-under), plus six team golds. Shaleigh Lachance also scooped a silver medal (solo, level 2, 12-and-under).
