Equestrian Arora Peters, 14, who rides at Meadowland Farm in Aldergrove, will be traveling with trainer Tamara Hall to the American USEF Pony finals at the Kentucky Horse Park, July 30 to August 13.
She qualified while showing for seven weeks in Thermal, California Hits circuit this winter, riding pony “FineLines Dover”.
Very few youths from B.C. ever go to these finals and it will be an amazing experience for an up-and-coming professional rider in this sport.
Arora received the BCHJA Sportmanship Award in 2011 and works very hard to be able to afford to compete in this sport, while riding training and sales ponies.
“We have had many people generously donate funds to this great cause and a fund-raising Silent Auction and Calcutta was held Saturday at the prestigious Thunderbird Show Park horse show,” said Hall.
There will also be a hot dog sale and car wash at Otter Co-op, Saturday, July 14 and a 50/50 raffle at Samz Pub in Langley.
Arora also just received the first Hickstead Bursary, sponsored by Rocky Mountain Show Jumping.
