Juan de Fuca bantam lacrosse teams picked up three medals at the provincial championships last weekend in Kelowna.
Not only did the A1 team capture the gold on Sunday (see previous page), the bantam B and C Whalers each won their final games to finish with a bronze medal from their respective draws.
The B team downed Prince George 9-7 to start the day, after dropping a 7-4 decision to Campbell River in the previous night’s semifinal.
The Whaler Bs went 3-0 in round robin action, with wins over Langley, Shuswap and Coquitlam, before coming up against the eventual champions in the semis.
Juan de Fuca’s Jake Morin was named to the tournament all-star team while teammate Connor McLelland earned a Warrior Fair Play Award.
The Whaler C team handled Port Coquitlam 6-2 in the bronze medal game, after losing 6-2 the night before to Vanderhoof in the semifinals.
The C Whalers also went 3-0 in pool play, picking up wins against Port Coquitlam, Kelowna and West Kootenay.
Jordan Sandhu was selected as a tournament all-star in the C division from the Whalers, while Ryan Baird won a Fair Play Award.
Pee wees pick up B.C. bronze
Starting off the Juan de Fuca medal run the previous weekend in Ridge Meadows were the pee wee A1 Whalers, who finished off their tournament with an 11-9 win over the Delta Islanders in the bronze medal game.
Daniel Ramage was named to the all-star team from the Whalers, while Nick Swan earned the Fair Play Award.
