The Barsby Bulldogs used the Kocher Classic to round out their game in advance of playoffs.
John Barsby Secondary School’s AA varsity football team defeated the Nanaimo District Islanders by a 47-13 score on Friday at Merle Logan Field to conclude the regular season for both teams.
“Good effort to close out the season,” said Rob Stevenson, Barsby coach, in a press release. “One of our goals was to win the division and we did that. Now on to our next goal.”
NDSS actually struck first for a 7-0 lead, but the favoured Barsby squad was overpowering.
Bulldogs quarterback North Rainey was 14-for-19 passing for 283 yards and four touchdowns. Kalven Kellock caught six passes for 130 yards and three touchdowns. Mark Dhamia also caught a touchdown pass and Tyler Harvey rushed for 93 yards. Blair Gould and Parker Bowles had four tackles each.
