BCFC extra: Westshore Rebels change bench bosses

The junior football Westshore Rebels have a new head coach in Tim Kearse, a man who has coached in the Canadian Football League.

Just weeks before the start of the BC Football Conference season, the Westshore Rebels have made a major coaching change.

With Scott Mennie stepping down as head coach of the junior football team, the Rebels have made Tim Kearse the new bench boss.

Kearse’s coaching resume includes time in the Canadian Football League with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Montreal Alouettes.

He was an offensive coach with the Rebels from 1998 to 2000 and returned to the team in the same capacity last year.

Mennie leaves a head-coaching post that he never really started. He took over for John Cardillicia as the offseason started, but ‘personal reasons’ have forced his departure.
