There will be plenty of Bears roaming the fields in Chilliwack this weekend.
Forty-one members of the North Langley Bears football program have been selected to play in the Vancouver Community Football League’s Star Bowl tomorrow (Saturday) at Chilliwack’s Exhibition Park.
The league is made up of teams from the North Langley, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Meadow Ridge and Mission organizations.
Playing in the peewee game from North Langley will be Matthew Vandas, Nicolas Reimer, Manny Fotiou, Ethan Sledding, Tyson Hoy, Ryan Goeson, Mathieu Gale, Jacob Deibert, Lance Barker and Jordan Williams.
Owen Seiban was selected but is unable to play.
Another dozen Bears will suit up in the junior bantam game.
Aiden Morency, Charlie Ward, Jesse Nielson, Carlos Redekopp, Josh Goeson, Dallas Pattenden, Ethan Holland, Callum Middleton, Ayden Holloway, Nolan MacLeod, Shaun Brynjolofson and Marcus Stang will don the pads for the game.
Connor Bernardin was selected but is unable to play.
And for the bantam game, North Langley’s Alex Ronald, Andrew Canning, Andrew Marshall, Brodie Tarling, Caleb Nielsen, Connor Hurley, David Wegert, Eric Hawkins, Ethan Bernardin, Evan Rees, Jacob Kidanemarium, Jacob Ronald, Kevin Morrison, Michael Huggan and Nick Lacroix will take part.
Alex Henderson, Ryan Taylor and Alex Yoo were supposed to play, but are unable to take part.
