The North Langley Bears will play for the provincial championship.
The bantam football team defeated the Ridge Meadows Knights 25-13 on Saturday at McLeod Athletic Park in the Valley Community Football League championship game.
Ethan Bernardin rushed for a pair of touchdowns while Nick Butler had the team’s third major.
David Wegert added three converts, a field goal and a single point off a missed field goal to round out the scoring.
The Bears defence was led by a spirited effort from their defensive line.
With the victory, North Langley advanced to the provincial championship game this Sunday against the North Surrey Tigers. Kick-off is at 2:30 p.m.
They are one of two North Langley teams — and one of three local teams — competing for a provincial title as the North Langley Kodiaks battle the Langley Stampeders in the midget provincial final. That game begins at 5 p.m.
Both games, as well as the peewee (10 a.m.) and junior bantam (noon) provincial finals, will be played at McLeod Athletic Park.
