Belmont’s football Bulldogs have new life in B.C. playoffs

Tough regular season still yields playoff berth for senior varsity squad

The Belmont Bulldogs senior football team may have finished with a less than stellar 1-5 record in the B.C. AAA varsity league, but they’re still heading for the playoffs.

The Bulldogs take on Centennial at Percy Perry Stadium in Coquitlam on Friday afternoon (Nov. 11) in the first round of the playoffs. The winner will play the winner between South Delta and Handsworth on the Nov. 18-19 weekend in the quarter-finals.

Ironically Belmont’s arch-rivals, the Mount Douglas Rams, play their first playoff game Friday at the Bulldogs’ home turf Goudy Field, against W.J. Mouat Hawks at 1 p.m.
