Dennis Cholowski is on the rise.
The 18-year-old from Langley moved up 25 spots from his midterm ranking — the highest riser among BCHL players — to be ranked 23rd among North American skaters as NHL Central Scouting released its final player ratings on Tuesday, ahead of June’s NHL entry draft.
The Chilliwack Chiefs defenceman had been ranked 48th in the middle of the season.
He is ranked third among the six BCHL players to make the list.
Cholowski and the Chiefs begin play in the BCHL’s Fred Page Cup finals tonight (Friday) against the West Kelowna Warriors in a best-of-seven series.
In 14 playoff games, he has four goals and 11 points.
He also had 12 goals and 40 points during the regular season.
Cholowski is off to St. Cloud State in the fall.
