The Langley Blaze finished the regular season with both the top batting average and earned run average.
As a team, the U18 squad led the B.C. Premier Baseball League with a .283 batting average.They also led in extra base hits (with 65 doubles, seven triples and five home runs) and RBIs, with 207, 28 ahead of the Nanaimo Pirates.
And the Blaze hurlers did their part too, allowing a .179 batting average and a 1.44 ERA, both tops in the league by a wide margin.
They also led in strikeouts, with 351.
Langley faces the Parksville Royals in a best-of-three playoff series, with a doubleheader on Saturday (July 23) and a third game, if necessary, on Sunday.
The winner advances to the B.C. PBL final four championships July 29-31 at Nat Bailey Stadium.
