Bowlers set to strike as Willowbrook Lanes co-hosting provincials

Langley bowling alley well represented with 13 bowlers going for gold

Willowbrook Lanes will be well represented this weekend as the 4 Steps to Stardom five-pin youth provincial bowling championships.

The event is being co-hosted by Langley’s Willowbrook Lanes and Surrey’s Scottsdale Lanes.

Three levels of bowlers will be competing in singles and teams: bantam (10 and under), junior (11 to 14) and senior (15 to 19) and the top 30 will advance to the national championships in Ontario from May 2 to 5.

Willowbrook will be represented by three teams.

The junior boys are made up of Liam Arnold, Benjamin Copeland, Jordan McCormick and Dylan Patterson, with Jason McCormick the coach.

The senior girls are Alexis Atchison, Jordyn Henderson, Kennady Keraiff and Tiana Tecson, with Marie Dacosta the coach.

And the senior boys are Cole Fischer, Michael Keilbart, Braydyn Ingebrigsten and Stephen Syrnyk. The coach is Debbie Ealey.

And representing Langley in senior boys singles will be Brandon Kirk.

Kirk won gold in both 2013 and 2014 as a member of the senior team at nationals, as well as silver in 2011. In bantam singles, Kirk won silver in 2006, and in junior singles, he won silver in both 2008 and 2009.

The members of the senior girls squad also have an impressive history in the sport.

Keraiff won gold in senior singles (2013), Henderson won gold on the junior team (2011) and senior team (2012), and Tecson won gold on the senior team (2013) and junior team (2010) as well as silver on the junior team (2011). She also was a bronze medalist in senior singles (2014) and on both the junior (2009) and bantam (2007) teams.
