Playing outside of Canada for the first time didn’t faze Vernon’s Brandon Chai.
The Aberdeen Hall (Kelowna) student finished tied for 11th in the juvenile boys division at the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour Boston Pizza national championship tournament at the Legacy Golf Resort in Phoenix.
Chai fired rounds of 73-74-75 for a 54-hole score of 9-over 222.
“The competition in Phoenix was at a high level, playing against some of the best players in Canada,” said Chai.
“I had lots of fun. It was a great experience and I hope to compete in more competitions like this in the future.”
The national championships were presented by TaylorMade-Adidas Golf.
