Bucs will face unfamiliar foe

NANAIMO – Team plays its final exhibition game against the Mission City Outlaws of the Pacific Junior Hockey League

The junior B Nanaimo Buccaneers will face an entirely different kind of challenge this week.

The city’s Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League team plays its fourth and final exhibition game this Sunday (Aug. 30) against the Mission City Outlaws of the Pacific Junior Hockey League. The teams face off Sunday at 5:30 p.m. at the Nanaimo Ice Centre.

The Bucs start the regular season Sept. 4 and play their home opener Sept. 10 when the Comox Valley Glacier Kings visit the NIC for a 7:15 p.m. faceoff.
