Bullets offence leads way to Cup title

Langley U15 soccer team defeats Pitt Meadows in final

After a so-so regular season, the Langley Bullets caught fire at the Fraser Valley district Cup championships.

The Langley United Youth Soccer Association boys’ U15 house B team went 5-0-1 during round robin play and earned a berth in the championship final at Willoughby Community Park last week.

And as has been the case throughout the Cup playoffs, the Bullets’ offence was unstoppable, as they scored a 5-3 win over Pitt Meadows United.

Langley scored 30 times over their six Cup games.

“When it came to the Cup, we just played strong as a team,” said coach Wayne Van Loo.

“We completely had it turned on.”

This is the coach’s fourth year with the main core of the team and the squad has won their age-group Cup three times in that span.

The team consists of Spencer Matthewman,Sam Shin, Justin Van Loo, Jeffrey Bailey, Jacob Goertz,Harrison Taylor,Connor Heagle, Brennan McLachlan, Brendan Atchison, Arron Courtney, Angus Mcdonald, Julian Anonby, Harry Choi,Alex Jr Minaev, Geoff Roy, Grayson Classen.

Coaches are Wayne Van Loo, Andy Taylor and Steve Heagle.
