Case, Larson shoot best

Ladies record low scores, skills results at 108 Ladies Club Championship

Of the 23 players competing at the 108 Golf Resort for the 108 Ladies Club Championship on Aug. 23-24, Deb Case and Shelley Larson scored lowest overall.

Case fired low gross and Larson fired low net.

The annual tournament saw three flights of golfers and skills contests throughout the two rounds.

Cathy Waite shot low gross in the first flight (Handicap 0-23), followed by Joanne Garrow and Carol Ohlund.

Heather Matsuda and Judy Scarrow show low net in the first flight.

Julietta Morete, Leslie Bell and Maureen Pinkney shot lowest gross in the second flight (Handicap 24-28), while Shannon Knapp, Lorraine McCaffrey and Carol Lidstone fired the lowest net numbers in that flight.

In the third flight (Handicap 29+), Sharon Thompson, Gloria Corno and Donna Brennan shot lowest gross, while Lynn Smeds, Pauline Weigelt and Darlene De Angelis made lowest net.

Larson and Shirley Boyson shot closest to the pin on Aug. 24, while Case, Morete and De Angelis cranked the long drives and Millie Halcro, Lorraine McCaffrey and Matsuda drained the longest putts of the day.

Ohlund, McCaffrey and Smeds won the pin-seeker challenges on Aug. 23. Case, Knapp and De Angelis had the big drives. Larson, Morete and Weigelt dropped the long putts on the opening day.

Waite made two birdies on Aug. 24 and Pinkney made one.
