Castlegar’s Bantam Tier 3 male team has advanced to the final of the 2012-2013 BC Hockey Championships in Dawson Creek, which is underway as of 11 a.m,. against Quesnel.

The team has four wins and one loss thus far in the championships.

The only loss came in game one with Quesnel, but then the team rattled off four straight wins: Cranbrook (4 – 1; Sunday), Revelstoke (6 – 2; Monday), Juan de Fuca (6 – 2; Tuesday) and finally Smithers ( 5 – 3; Wednesday) to advance to the final.

Quesnel sports a perfect 4 – 0 record heading into the final, after also beating Revelstoke, Juan de Fuca and Cranbrook.

Three other Castlegar Minor Hockey teams (Pee Wee, Midget and Bantam “A” Female) all had strong performances in other BC Hockey Championships played in Creston, Port Alberni and Vernon but didn’t make it through to finals.
