Chapdelaine coming to Chilliwack

B.C. Lions offensive coordinator Jacques Chapdelaine visits the Fraser Valley Feb. 11, speaking at a breakfast event.

BC Lions offensive coordinator Jacques Chapdelaine will be in Chilliwack Feb. 11, delivering his personal testimony at a Full Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship in Canada mixed breakfast.

The event takes place at 9 a.m. at the Pantry Restaurant (45466 Yale Road West) and the only cost is whatever you choose to order for breakfast.

Chapdelaine played in the Canadian Football League from 1983-89.

The native of Sherbrooke (Quebec) was a first round college draft selection of the Lions out of Simon Fraser University in 1983, and played two years for BC before moving to the Montreal Alouettes in 1985.

Chapdelaine spent two seasons with the Als, then two more with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

His final season was split between Hamilton and the Calgary Stampeders. Chapdelaine, a wide receiver, finished his playing career with 166 catches, 2,026 yards and six touchdowns.

Moving to the coaching ranks, Chapdelaine coached collegiately with the Bishop’s Gaiters and Laval Rouge et Or.

He has three Grey Cup rings as a CFL coach, winning two with the Lions.
