The BC Junior A Lacrosse League held its annual entry draft Jan. 27.
Three Chilliwack natives were selected, all of them by the Langley Thunder. Langley plucked Byron Dargatz in the third round (21st overall), then grabbed Connor Lovely one round later (29th ova). Brayden Galbraith went in the sixth round (45th ova).
All three earned notice for their play in the Chilliwack Mustangs Minor Lacrosse program.
The BC Junior A Lacrosse League is a seven team circuit with teams in Langley, Delta, Port Coquitlam, New Westminster, Coquitlam and Delta.
The captain of this year’s Thunder squad, Zack Porter, lists Chilliwack as his hometown. In five games this year, the five-foot-six right-shooting runner has two assists and seven penalty minutes.
At 2-3, Langley currently occupies fourth place in the standings.
