Chilliwack FC’s Pacific Coast Soccer League men took on Richmond’s TSS Academy Tuesday night, battling the home team to a 2-2 draw.
Chilliwack dominated possession in the first 30 minutes, but failed to convert on five glorious scoring chances, including a Ben Bentum header.
Against the run of play, TSS scored twice to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.
Chilliwack kept coming as the second half started, and got on the board when the Richmond squad committed a foul inside the 18-yard box. Connor MacMillan hammered the ensuing penalty kick past the TSS keeper to cut the deficit in half.
Scott Delcourt got the equalizer minutes later with a perfectly placed shot that sailed over the keeper, catching the top left corner of the net.
Chilliwack had two or three blue-chip chances in the closing minutes, but couldn’t get the go-ahead goal.
The locals now have 12 days rest before their next game, a home match June 23 versus West Vancouver FC. Game time will be 3 p.m. at Townsend Park.
