Comox Valley United remains undefeated in VISL Div. 1

Local men's soccer team sits alone in third place with 3-0-2 record

Comox Valley United extended their undefeated streak to five games on Oct. 10, blanking Vic West 1-0 in Vancouver Island Soccer League Div. 1 action in Courtenay.

Kyle Bate netted the game’s only goal on a penalty kick and Mack Zirkl posted the shutout.  Tom Butcher was Comox Valley MVP.

United (3-0-2) now has 11 points, good enough for sole possession of third place in the 10-team division. They are two points behind top-of-the-table Cowichan (4-0-1) and one back of second-place Bays United (4-1-0).

United is on the road this Saturday, Oct. 17 to play fourth-place Saanich Fusion (3-1-1). Their next home game is Oct. 24 against fifth-place Gorge (2-2-1), a 6 p.m. start at Comox Valley Turf.
