It was all Salmon Arm Sunday, when two local teams battled for a semi-final win in the North Okanagan Soccer League.

Pitted against each other were Courvas FC and NOD Eagle Homes, tied in the standings heading into the match.

With an 8-4-4 record, Courvas eventually triumphed over  9-1-6 NOD, benefitting from two goals from Spencer Duncan.

Dave Knight scored for NOD, but it wasn’t enough to catch their rivals.

The game was tight and physical, but disciplined, with no cards shown. Courvas took a 2-0 lead into the half, and NOD scored midway through the second half, keeping up the pressure. Courvas held on for the win, claiming the Dirty Boot, the derby trophy awarded to the winner of the Courvas/NOD games.

Courvas now moves on to the final to take place tonight in Vernon. They’ll take on the formidable NET from Vernon, who top the league standings with a 12-1-3 record.
