Summerland runners took the top spots in the junior categories at a recent cross-country race at Campbell Mountain.
The race, on Oct. 12, was the last cross-country race before the valley championships.
In the junior boys category, Keegan Ingram a Grade 9 student from Summerland Secondary School, finished with a time of 15:49.
He was followed by Summerland runner Jason Scherban, who had a time of 15:57 and Ben Geertz, with a time of 16:00.
The fourth-place runner was Ethan Sands, also from Summerland, with a time of 17:03.
Koen Buckingham finished in eighth place with a time of 19:15, while Luke Usher was 11th, at 20:19. Reilly Noble placed 13th with a time of 21:33.
In the junior girls category, Olivia Harrold and Natalie Benoit of Summerland were tied for first, with a time of 19:31.
In fifth place, Delaney Sorensen finished with a time of 23:30 while Annika Carlson crossed the line a second later for the sixth place finish.
Haleigh Bach placed seventh, at 24:42 while Rayman Klar was eighth at 28:45. Regina Fernandez finished in ninth place at 29:23.
Among the senior girls, Olivia Eaton finished seventh, with a time of 22:32.
The valley championships will be held at Telemark Nordic Club in West Kelowna on Tuesday, Oct. 25.
The provincial championships, also at Telemark, will be held Saturday, Nov. 5.
