The Langley Dirty Danglers gave the red light a workout over the weekend, returning home with the gold medal for their efforts.

The atom C hockey team was in Summerland for the Battle of the Stix tournament and the Langley club scored in double digits in four of their five games en route to a championship title.

Facing West Kelowna in the gold-medal game, Langley was down 2-0 in the first period before coming on strong and edging their opponent 8-7.

The eight goals represented a tournament-low for the team as they seemed to score at will in the round robin, winning by scores of 10-6 against Abbotsford, 10-5 over West Kelowna and 13-4 versus Penticton.

In the semifinals, they beat another Penticton squad 13-2.

The team is made up of Dylan Sayler, Dylan Adams, Kallen Barthelson, Nathan Bot, Luke Calder, Bryce Gustavson, Forrest Johnstone, Brendan Lacey, Wyatt Lyon, Harmandeep Saini, Daniel Spring, Kaleb Stecher and Lucas Thompson.
