Chilliwack’s Voodoo Derby Dollz Roller Derby Association is hosting a fundraising event for Team Canada at their home-base, the Landing Sports Center in Chilliwack, on Sunday, Nov. 20.

Roller Derby is celebrated all around the world, and this year several nations will head to Toronto Dec. 1-4 for the Blood and Thunder World Cup.

Team Canada’s 20 woman roster will include three British Columbians; 8Mean Wheeler and Luludemon from Vancouver’s Terminal City Roller Girls and Beretta Lynch  from the Kootenay Kannibelles.

The Voodoo Dollz, will host all Team Canada skaters in a ‘Scrimmathon.’

They will play roller derby non-stop from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and one of Team Canada’s coaches, Mack the Mouth, will be on site answering questions about the sport.

The Derby Dollz are inviting other teams to participate at a cost of $20 per skater. All proceeds go directly to Team Canada.

Spectators are welcome at a cost of $10 per ticket.
