After a heart-breaking loss in the semifinals, the North Langley Devils rebounded to win the bronze medal.
Eighteen teams from across the province were competing at the tournament, which was hosted by the Burnaby Minor Softball Association at Squint Lake from June 28 to July 1.
And the Devils, a U10 mite select team from the North Langley Diamond Sports association, got off to a great start, winning all four of their round robin games to place them into the A Division playoffs.
But after defeating the Ridge Meadows Rage 03 team in the quarter-finals, they could not duplicate the feat against another team from that association, the Ridge Meadows Pride 03, losing 4-3 in the semifinals.
The Devils did not hang their heads after the loss, however, bouncing back in a big way with a 15-5 win over the Surrey Storm to win the bronze medal.
