A seven-point night — including four goals — from Brett Dobray led the Langley Junior Thunder to their sixth win in the past eight games.
Both losses have come against the top team in the B.C. Junior A Lacrosse League, the Coquitlam Junior Adanacs, who are an impressive 16-3 on the season.
The Thunder’s latest win was a 12-5 defeat of the Delta Islanders on July 4 at the Langley Events Centre and it improved the team to 13-7 with one game remaining in the regular season. That game will be Sunday at 5 p.m. at the LEC against Nanaimo.
Against Delta, Langley fell behind 1-0 early in the contest, but stormed back with four goals to take control. The Islanders made it 4-2 prior to intermission before the Thunder struck for another five goals in the middle frame for a 9-3 advantage.
In addition to Dobray’s big night, Sean Lundstrom had two goals and two assists and Johnny Pearson had two goals and one helper.
Brendan Mykle-Winkler had a goal and two assists and Brandon Bull potted a pair of goals. William Vanden Hooven rounded out the scoring with a goal and assist. Nick Stone, with a pair of helpers, and Adam Will and James Rahe, with one assist apiece, also found the scoresheet.
Spencer England made 25 saves in the victory.
