Nanaimo’s Faye Tuck wrestled the very best in the country and came out on top.

Tuck, a Grade 11 competitor from Dover Bay Secondary School, won her 52-kilogram girls’ division at the Juvenile/Cadet National Wrestling Championships in Guelph, Ont. on April 6.

Tuck pinned four opponents and beat two others by technical superiorty, amassing 47 points for and 13 against over her eight matches. She defeated Montreal’s Shaundell Simmons in the gold-medal match.
