Eagles fall in gold-medal final

Langley loses to Semiahmoo in championship final of Gil Martin Memorial peewee AAA hockey tournament at Sportsplex




After a dramatic overtime victory in the semifinals, the Langley Eagles ran out of steam in the championship final.

The Eagles fell 8-2 to Semiahmoo in the gold medal game of the Gil Martin Memorial peewee AAA hockey tournament hosted by Langley Minor Hockey over the weekend at Sportsplex.

Langley went 3-2 at the tournament, with an 8-2 win over Nanaimo, a 6-5 loss to Juan de Fuca, a 2-1 victory against Victoria Racquet Club and a 4-3 overtime semifinal win over Seafair.

Jaxon Wood, Brandon Whynott, Kaden Hammell and Taje Gill earned player of the game honours. Joel Plante was Langley’s player of the game in the championship final.
