Vancouver hosts four-team pre-season scrimmage at Langley Events Centre

Roster cutdown day is less than a week away as members of the Vancouver Stealth aim to impress the club’s brass and land a roster spot for the upcoming National Lacrosse League season.

The Stealth, who began training camp last month (Nov. 19) hosted a four-team pre-season scrimmage at the Langley Events Centre.

Vancouver lost 13-6 to the Calgary Roughnecks on the Saturday night but bounced back with an 11-10 victory over the Saskatchewan Rush the following day.

The team is getting set for another weekend of practices — all of which are free for the public to attend — as they get set to narrow their roster down to 20 players, plus another four on the practice roster.

Heading into the weekend, the team is down to 36 players in camp right now, with another three on injured reserve, three on the holdout list and two on the unable to perform.

Practice times are 9 to 11 a.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday and then again from 9 to 11 a.m. on Sunday morning.

The final roster is due on Dec. 19.
