Chilliwack’s David Ford has secured his spot at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London after a strong performance at the 2012 Pan American Championship. Ford and a contingent of Canadian paddlers made the trip to Foz do Iguassu, Brazil.
Ford placed first in the men’s K1 event, narrowly, with a time that was just 0.13 seconds ahead of Brazil’s Pedro Da Silva.
London will be the sixth Olympic adventure for Ford.His highest placing to date was at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece, where he placed fourth.
