Five make Team BC

A handful of local lacrosse players are trading the arctic winds for some sunnier weather in the coming weeks.

The five — two boys and three girls — have landed spots on various Team BC lacrosse squads.

Bailey Vanichuk and Jonathan Grywacheski, who both play for the Langley Thunder Field Lacrosse Association, have been named to Team BC’s U13 squad.

They will compete at the Adrenaline Challenge Tournament this weekend in Del Mar, Calif.

The pair have played together for three seasons, both in field and box lacrosse in Langley.

And the following weekend will see Olivia Ohlmann and Ella and Ashley McNeill hit the field at the Sandstorm Tournament in Palm Springs.

Ohlmann is on the Team BC sophomore women’s squad while Ella McNeill is on the freshman women’s team.

And Ashley McNeill, from Langley but playing for Coquitlam, is on the senior women’s team.
