Clearwater Youth Soccer’s third annual Footy Festival last weekend was awesome, organizers report.

A total of 18 teams took part – six U8, six U10 and six U13. Most were from from Barriere and Clearwater but Lillooet sent two teams and Ashcroft sent a team as well.

The event had two more teams than last year so it was held over two days.

Goalie“Every year it is growing a bit,” an organizer said.

The U13 division was the only division with standings and the Clearwater Todd Phillips team won that.

In U10, two Barriere teams won the most sportsmanlike team and the best teamwork trophies.

There was a skills competition for each age group that had a hardest shot, dribbling relay, and passing accuracy.

In the U13 division, Jacob Bond from Ashcroft won the hardest shot at 74km/hr!

Clearwater Youth Soccer’s spring season is wrapping up this week. The association reports that it had wonderful support from local businesses this year and was lucky to have lots of people stepping up to volunteer to coach, referee, and generally help out.
