The region’s freestyle ski club is forecasting favourable conditions on the mountain this winter.

The Mt. Washington Freestyle Ski Club is holding registration this month as it prepares for another season on the slopes at the ski hill, located in the Comox Valley.

“The aim of our programs is to provide each skier with the necessary skills, – physical, mental and technical – to achieve their goals and dreams,” noted a ski club press release. “We provide opportunities for skiers to experience various levels of competition as well as to enjoy being able to go out and rip all over the mountain.”

The club is inviting any competent skiers age six and older to learn under certified coaches. There are programs for beginners as well as development and competitive athletes.

According to the club, the programs focus on moguls, slopestyle and big-air disciplines. Children and youths will learn turn carving, jumping, rails and mogul technique in a team environment.

The club will be holding a registration day on Nov. 19 – the last day for early-bird pricing – at the Comox Valley Sports Centre in Courtenay from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Registration is also available online at www.mwfreestyle.com, along with other information about the club and its programs.
