It was a sign of things to come at the start of game four for the Langley Rivermen.
Viktor Dombrovskiy was assessed a bench minor prior to the puck drop and 35 seconds later, the puck was in the back of the Rivermen net courtesy of the Surrey Eagles’ Brady Shaw.
And that penalty would be the first of nine power plays for the Eagles — compared to just two man advantages for the Rivermen — over the course of game four, a 6-3 Surrey victory on Tuesday at the Langley Events Centre.
The victory also wrapped up the BCHL best-of-five playoff series 3-1 for Surrey.
The Rivermen would twice battle back from one-goal deficits with Evan Campbell and Mitch McLain scoring for Langley. The latter goal came 2:17 into the second period, shortly after the Rivermen killed off their fourth straight penalty, including 1:25 of a two-man advantage.
Trevor Cameron had put the Eagles ahead 2-1 prior to the first intermission.
But after McLain tied the score at two, Adam Tambellini scored twice — once on the power play — and Nicolas Pierog had the other for a 5-2 Surrey lead after 40 minutes.
Tambellini would complete the hat trick early in the third before Trevor Cope got one goal back for the home side.
The Eagles will play the winner of the Chilliwack Chiefs/Prince George Spruce Kings series, which has gone to a fifth and deciding game.
