The Okanagan Falls Vertical Creations Gators (Little League) baseball team continue their strong play.
The Gators improved to 7-1-2 following action in Nelson and Castlegar last weekend.
Against Nelson, the Gators won 10-8 and tied 12-12. Nate Collins gave the Gators timely pitching, while Jagger Peever and Isaac Halverson had clutch hits at key moments in both games.
On May 29, the Gators headed to Castlegar for another double-header with the first game ending in a 15-15 tie. They took the second game 12-5. Khy Cutler and Hank Cumming pitched well and Adrian Orioli and Halverson each homered twice. Luca Peever and Brandon Smythe made many great defensive plays in the infield.
The Gators are off this weekend as they prepare for playoffs and Babe Ruth Provincial and Regional championships. The team is looking for a few more players born in 2003/2004 for their summer tournament team. Anyone interested in practicing and playing baseball games in June and July is asked to contact Tony Orioli at torioli@hotmail.com or 250 497-1119.
