The Walnut Grove Gators will play for a medal. It just remains to be seen if it will be for the gold or the bronze.
The Gators posted victories in their first two games at the junior boys basketball provincial championships being held at the Langley Events Centre.
In the opening game on Feb. 26, Walnut Grove defeated Duchess Park (Prince George) 62-39.
And then in the quarter-finals, the Gators broke a 29-29 tie at the half to knock off the Fleetwood Park Dragons 54-46.
The victory moves Walnut Grove to the provincial championship semifinals. They will play the winner of Panorama Ridge and Terry Fox on Feb. 28 (Friday) at 5:15 p.m.
Walnut Grove entered the championships seeded third after losing the Fraser Valley the week before 42-39 to Panorama Ridge.
The gold medal game is set for March 1 at 4:30 p.m. with the bronze medal game preceding it at 3 p.m.
