The second annual Revelstoke Golf Fore the Cure tournament on Aug. 21 was a fun affair that raised $10,200 for breast cancer research. Coordinator Betty Sloan said the 68 participants representing 14 teams enjoyed lots of “hootin’, hollerin’ and unintimidating fun” on the course. “Everybody had lots of fun,” she said, adding community organizations and businesses went above and beyond to support the event. “The community rose and were really supportive.” So far, the event looks to be a go next year. It’s a chance for newcomers to golf to come have a fun day out on the course and learn about the game.
