The Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) Foundation raised over $54,000 at its fourth annual golf tournament held at the Northview Golf and Country Club last week.
The event to date has raised over $145,000 to fund scholarships, bursaries and opportunities for KPU’s student-athletes.
Once again, the tournament saw student volunteers out in full-force, working alongside KPU staff and sponsors with on- and off-course activities, which included hole-in-one prizes, mid-game massages, blood pressure checks and a well-stocked silent auction.
“Our organizing committee has worked closely with KPU management and student volunteers to ensure the success of this tournament,” said Wayne McKay, chair of the golf committee, and member of the KPU Foundation board. “My thanks to all of them and to the sponsors, suppliers and golfers for their support. Together we have raised over $54,000 which will help the student athletes of KPU reach their goals.”
KPU is home to six varsity teams: badminton, golf, and men’s and women’s soccer and basketball. Fundraising done by the KPU Foundation goes to helping young athletes pursue their passion as they pursue post-secondary education.
