The Revelstoke Grizzlies went winless on its three game road trip last weekend, falling to the Fernie Ghostriders, Kimberley Dynamiters and Creston Thunder Cats.
On Friday the team travelled to Fernie to take on the Ghostriders. Revelstoke came out slow, falling behind 2-0 after the first period.
After the teams traded goals in the second, Lucas Hildebrand scored for Revelstoke early in the third to get within one.
However, Fernie responded with two more goals to take a 5-2 lead. Reid Blinkhorn and Cole Sanford scored to make it close but Revelstoke wound up losing 5-4.
On Saturday the Grizzlies headed to Kimberley to face the Dynamiters, who were looking for revenge following a 13-3 thumping at the hands of the Grizzlies the week before.
It was a back and forth game that saw the teams trade goals on four separate occasions until the third period, when Connor Kutzner scored the winner for the Dynamiters. Kimberley added an empty netter for a 6-4 win.
Defenceman Tyler Bolduc scored his first career KIJHL goal in the game. Sanford scored two goals and an assist in the loss.
On Sunday the Grizzlies found themselves in Creston to battle the Thunder Cats. Once again, Revelstoke came up short in another one-goal game, losing 4-3. Michael Roberts scored twice and added an assist for Revelstoke.
The disappointing weekend saw the North Okanagan Knights pass the Grizzlies for second place in the Doug Birks Division.
Revelstoke now sits seven points back of Kamloops for the division lead, with two games in hand.
