Nanaimo Gymnastics School athletes proved versatile and came up with top finishes at Gymnastics B.C.’s trampoline and tumbling championships.

The local contingent combined to win seven medals at the three-day event this past weekend at Kamloops’ Tournament Capital Centre.

Chamberlan Teghtmeyer led the Nanaimo group with gold on the double mini, silver in tumbling and bronze in synchronized trampoline.

Another noteworthy performance came from Emily Mould, who agreed to be a last-minute substitute for an injured teammate. After learning tumbling passes in a week, Mould won gold in her tumbling division.

Blake Mould took silver on the trampoline and Abbi Richardson earned a bronze in both the double mini and synchro trampoline.

The Nanaimo club earned a silver in team competition in the double mini event, only missing first place because of tie-breaker rules.

Next event for the athletes is the Western Canada Cup in Coquitlam in June.
