Abbotsford’s Adam Hadwin will be playing at The Masters on Saturday.
Hadwin shot a two-over round of 74 to sit at five-over through two rounds. With four leaders finishing at four-under-par, those sitting at six-over and better will make the cut and guarantee themselves a payday at the world’s most prestigious golf tournament.
It’s the first time Hadwin has qualified to play at Augusta.
Hadwin – who shot three-over on his first day – started strong, with a birdie on the second hole. He was steady for most of the day, with major hiccups only at 10, which he bogeyed, and on 17, where he double-bogeyed.
His father Gerry spoke to Adam this afternoon after he got off the course.
“He’s fine,” Gerry said. “You always want to play a little bit better … but this is first Masters [and] he made the cut.”
Ledgeview Golf Course, where Adam was a long-time member and Gerry is currently director of golf, will be holding a viewing party Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
