Hawks lose pair to Giants

After a flying start to the season where they won six of their first eight games, the Valley West Hawks have dropped four straight games.

The two most recent losses came on the weekend as they fell 2-0 and 3-1 to the Vancouver Northwest Giants in B.C. Major Midget Hockey League action.

The first game was Oct. 29 at the Burnaby Winter Club and for the first time this season, the Hawks failed to score a goal.

Taylor Tanti scored twice in the first period.

The teams met for the rematch on Oct. 30 at the Langley Sportsplex.

Jordan Klimek had the lone Hawks goal.

Trevor Stack, Adam Helewka and Eric Margo scored for the Giants.

The Hawks are in action this weekend on Nov. 5 at Sportsplex against the Fraser Valley Bruins.

The teams complete the home-and-home series on Nov. 6 at Chilliwack’s Prospera Centre.
