Sun Peaks, B.C. – Tis’ the season for giving, and Dec. 5 at Sun Peaks Resort was no exception. The lift company surpassed all projections for total donations as the newly minted ‘High Five Day’ broke previous fundraising records.
With over 1600 High Five ski tickets sold, the successful event raised over $7,600, plus a large amount of non-perishable food items for the Kamloops Food Bank. And the generosity didn’t stop there, as guests, locals and staff contributed $1000 in additional donations, bringing the grand total to over $8,600.
“With the evolution of the annual winter ‘Toonie Day’ to ‘High Five Day’, we’re now able to raise even more funds for deserving local causes, with all proceeds going directly to charity,” said Aidan Kelly, Chief Marketing Officer, Sun Peaks Resort.
“We are incredibly fortunate to host such passionate and generous guests. The success of this event can be directly attributed to the support of local communities. It also doubles as a great opportunity for people to experience the mountains at an extremely affordable rate. A huge thank you from Sun Peaks Resort and the Kamloops Food Bank goes out to everyone who came to ski, ride, or nordic ski on Monday.”
Sun Peaks Resort will be hosting another “High Five Day” this summer, with a date to be confirmed in the spring.
