Hike for Hospice set for May 1

On Sunday, May 1, the Shuswap Hospice Society and the Shuswap Trail Alliance will host the Ninth Annual Hike for Hospice Palliative Care.

The hike will be to the top of the Enderby Cliffs, using the all-new trail upgrade. More than two kilometres of new trail have been added to the trail.  The hike is intermediate level and will take five to six hours. Starting time and place is 8:30 a.m. sharp at the IGA Parking Lot at 606 Russell Street in Enderby.

The is a key fundraiser for the society, explained Lars Bjornson, society president.

“Equally as important, the event helps us to promote awareness of the society and its mission to provide compassionate care for the dying and the bereaved. It is critical that anyone in the community who may need support with death, dying and the grief that accompanies it knows that they can call us for help. We are exceptionally grateful to the Shuswap Trail Alliance and all of the participants for helping us fulfill our mission.”
